Learning the basics:

- Brief demo of wheel-throwing: learn about physical properties of clay, technical aspects
- Learning about material - the various types of clays and their chemical and physical properties
- Learning to wedge clay, centre, and lift walls
- Creating cillinder shapes

Simple shapes:
Simple shapes:
- Building on leassons learnt on Week 1
- Learning to wheel-throw simple shapes
- Creating bowls, vessels or pots

WEEK 3
Trimming & Throwing
Trimming & Throwing
- Learning to trim the work from previous classes
- Continuing to practice centering & wheel-throwing simple shapes
- Creating 2 part shapes
- Creating mugs, jugs, cups

WEEK4
Complex shapes:
Complex shapes:
- Intro to firing of clay - what happens in a kiln and the various types of firings.
- Learning to wheel-throw larger items and complex shapes
- Creating a large bowls, vases, lidded jars, teapots.
